I've looked at a few on Amazon and I must say I am very interested. Any of you guys have personal experience with them?

My school has one and I've used it a few times. It's really neat to see something go from a model on your computer to real life. I've also thought about buying one but to me it still seems like too much of a novelty item. Sure, its cool, but to me that doesn't justify spending the $500-$1000, especially considering that the print quality and "resolution" of the more entry-level personal use printers is far from excellent. You might be different, but I really don't have a legitimate use for one, all I would do is print little models of cars and things and most likely set them on a shelf somewhere. In my case, I've decided to wait a few years until I have a little more disposable income and/or the technology improves significantly at a reasonable price point. What do you think you would use it for?

I was interested in maybe starting a small business where you get custom items + a video of it being printed. The resolution issue may be a roadblock though.

Fully assembled but needs calibration. Next to it is the laptop used for printing...I guess the pile shows how long ago since I last touched it :)
This machine made me poor lol
